What is Filmevent?

Lights, Camera, Action!

Since 2010, Filmevent has been turning corporate events into unforgettable Hollywood productions. Teams act in and shoot their own short film on smartphones, for groups of 6 to 200 participants.

6 - 200 people

Whether as a single film crew or in multiple teams – a film event is flexible in terms of the number of participants. In groups of up to 10 people, you create your own short film with creative guidance and professional support.

Flexible in time and place

From a short shoot to a day-long film festival, we have the right offer for everyone. We transform the booked seminar hotel, your company headquarters or the local cinema into a film set for a few hours.

We run events in English, Dutch, German, French and any mix in between. With professional translation, we have hosted events in many other languages as well.

The Hero's journey

How does a Filmevent work?

A Filmevent can last 90 minutes or fill an entire day. From preparation to the grand premiere: this is how your team event becomes a cinematic experience.

Prepare

Pre Production | 60min.

Before the first sparks fly, the team dives into the script, distributes roles, chooses props and decides on the shooting locations. To ensure a smooth start, we provide a script that makes it easy to get into filmmaking while leaving plenty of room for the creative input of the participants. The moment the first person slips into their role, the ice is broken and the adventure begins.

Film

Production | 120min.

As soon as the preparations are complete the team finds itself on set. The creative process begins, and scene by scene, the team's ideas come to life. Whether the shots are dramatic, comical, or action-packed - hidden talents emerge during filming. Take by take, the team becomes more familiar with working on set. In just a few hours, dozens of shots are captured.

Chill

Postproduction

During postproduction, your team enjoys a well-deserved break with an aperitif, dinner, or another activity. Meanwhile, the raw material is transformed into a cinematic experience: the scenes are carefully assembled, enhanced with fitting music and sound effects, and refined with small special effects where needed. The final touches ensure the movie has the right look and feel, capturing the essence of the story.

Enjoy

Film premiere

Shortly after filming, the movies are ready for the big screen. The audience gathers, the excitement rises, and then—the moment of magic. Seeing yourself and your team on the big screen is an unforgettable experience. Laughter, emotions and applause are guaranteed – a highlight that will stay with you for a long time. As a crowning finale, the best performances are awarded. The audience decides who in the team deserves the trophies. A spectacular finale to an unforgettable day!

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Frequently asked.

What is a Filmevent suited for?

Filmevent works best as a team event for companies looking for team building with a real wow factor. Instead of a classic workshop, your team shoots its own short film together: creative, energising and suitable for 6 to 200 people. It's a popular company event for annual gatherings, kick-offs, Christmas parties or summer celebrations because the format runs year-round at almost any location.

We also bring private occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or weddings to life with their own short film.

What are the team-building elements?

During a Filmevent, the team leaves the everyday office behind for a day and slips into new roles. This shift in perspective is what makes the team building so effective: quiet colleagues suddenly take the director's chair, creative minds find structure, every person brings a different side. Shooting together creates constellations that the daily grind rarely allows.

By the time the premiere rolls, what started as a team event becomes a shared experience that lingers and connects the team well beyond the company event itself.

How long does a Filmevent take?

A Filmevent takes about 4 to 5 hours, including the shoot, the editing break and the premiere. It slots easily into a wider company event, or grows into a full programme with apéro and dinner.

We tailor the timing flexibly to your group size, your location and your wider programme.

What is a possible time table?

The flow of a Filmevent depends on group size, location and how much wider programme you want to add. As a rule we plan around 3 hours for your own film production and roughly 2 hours for editing - your team celebrates the premiere as the big highlight the same evening.

Many teams use the editing window for apéro, dinner or another element of the company event. A classic schedule for a team event looks like this:

14:00 | Welcome
14:30 | Film production
17:30 | Dinner | Film editing
20:00 | Film premiere

We recommend not splitting the film production block. Everything else can be tuned around your company gathering.

Can a film event be booked all year round?

Yes, all year round. Seasonal independence is one of the biggest strengths of Filmevent: the team event works just as well as a summer company outing, an autumn kick-off or a Christmas party. We shoot indoors and outdoors and tune the story and locations to the season.

In winter we recommend indoor venues with enough space for shoot and editing; in summer we happily write outdoor scenes into the script when the weather plays along. The team building lands in any season.

How far in advance does an event need to be planned?

There's no fixed lead time. We've run team events on just a few days' notice, especially for smaller groups. In our busy months - September, November and December - our dates fill up quickly, so booking early pays off.

For larger company events with 100 people or more, we recommend planning three to six months ahead so location, catering and the Filmevent slot together cleanly.

Can children, the elderly and people with disabilities also take part in the events?

Absolutely. Our team event adapts beautifully to children, older participants or people with disabilities - both in the roles on set and in the timing. We make sure every person finds a fitting task: in front of the camera, directing, or looking after the props.

If you have specific needs, just tell us. We've worked at many family gatherings, multi-generational events and inclusive company events, and we're happy to advise on what suits your group best.

What technology is needed for the film premiere?

For the film premiere you need a projector or a large screen and a sound system; that creates a real cinema feeling right in the middle of the team event. For smaller groups a large TV works fine too.

From around 100 people, image size and sound quality become more important. Many event locations already have suitable technology; we're happy to work out with you what your location needs, so the premiere becomes the highlight of the company event.
